Curriculum

Our WPSD curriculum aligns with the state standards and complies with all federal and state mandates.

All of our teachers are certified teachers of the deaf, many of which have dual certification within their content areas. Our teachers utilize the Standards Aligned System (SAS), developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which is a comprehensive, researched-based resource to improve student achievement. SAS identifies six elements that impact student achievement: Standards, Assessments, Curriculum Framework, Instruction, Materials & Resources, and Safe and Supportive Schools.
