Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receiver Surprises WPSD Students!
A member of the Bla
ck and Gold made a very special stop at the home of the Blue and Gold on Tuesday, September 21st. WPSD was thrilled to welcome Steelers’ superstar JuJu Smith-Schuster to campus. Steelers mascot, Steely McBeam, joined JuJu on the school tour, traveled to a few classrooms, and learned some American Sign Language that was centered around the game of football.
The duo then spent time in our Children’s Center with our youngest learners. JuJu got down on their level to enjoy some brief discussion and Steely got down on his hands and knees to play with chalk and write out special messages to the students. They also signed a Terrible Towel or two!
Afterward, the Steelers wide-receiver joined the elementary, middle and high schoolers in the auditorium to answer questions from our students and learn the WPSD fight song!
