WPSD is Committed To The Community
WPSD has made a commitment to reach out to the community through relationships, events and projects.
A founding member of the Commitment to Community Committee, WPSD hosts quarterly meetings on the Pittsburgh campus. This group of leaders from the municipal, non-profit and business sectors of Edgewood, Forest Hills, Swissvale and Wilkinsburg meet for the purpose of strengthening relationships and dialogues on the challenges and opportunities facing their communities.
Our staff members are involved in the community through activities ranging from community organizations to board memberships to volunteer fire departments.
Our friends and neighbors are welcome to participate in events held throughout the year including: a community block party, golf tournament, dinner auction, homecoming, May Day and a sporting clay shoot. Volunteers are an integral part of many of these functions.
WPSD publications provide information about the school, residential programs, activities and special events. The Western Pennsylvanian has been published since 1893, and its mailing list continues to grow. Please send an email to sbartlebaugh@wpsd.org if you would like to added to our mailing list.
You can follow us on the WPSD Facebook page at facebook.com/WPSDprograms. Or stay in touch through twitter @WPSD_LionPride.
Press releases are sent to print and broadcast media throughout the school year.
