Connie Stepien Memorial Scholarship

The Connie Stepien Memorial Scholarship is established in remembrance of Connie and her love and dedication to the students within the Residential program at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. 

From 1979 to 2007, Connie served as Dean of Girls and Assistant to the Dean of Students. She was a loving role model, tireless worker, counselor, advisor, and second mother to all students who were fortunate enough to come under her care. Through her students, Connie’s legacy will endure for decades to come.  

This scholarship will be awarded to qualifying female seniors who are part of WPSD’s Residential program to assist them in their pursuits and goals after graduation. The winners will be recognized for their leadership skills, integrity, kindness to others, and strong work ethic – all qualities Connie relentlessly worked to instill in her students.
